Taiwan congregation's generosity builds churches in Philippines, Tanzania

[Episcopal News Service] When parishioners at St. James' Episcopal
Church in Taichung, Taiwan heard about a group of Filipinos holding
services under a mango tree, they were inspired to raise funds so that
the community could worship in a building of its own.

ENGLAND: Christians urged to pray for imprisoned converts in Iran

Iranian Christian Fellowship in Britain are invoking prayers for the
release of two women converts from Islam to Christianity who some fear
may face the death sentence in Iran if they refuse to recant their
faith.

George McGonigle to receive first Charles Cook Award in Servant Leadership

[Episcopal News Service] George McGonigle, a former senior executive
officer in the Office of the Presiding Bishop and eight-time deputy to
the Episcopal Church's General Convention, will receive the inaugural
Charles J. Cook Award in Servant Leadership at the Seminary of the
Southwest (SSW) on September 8.
