The Lilly Endowment's National Clergy Renewal Program will be the
focus of a workshop to be led by Jean M. Smith, Program Director of
the Lilly Endowment's Religion Division, at the Religion Communication
Congress in Chicago, April 7-10, 2010.

For 10 years, the Lilly Endowment has offered both a national and an
Indiana-focused program to strengthen and sustain pastoral leadership.
The program makes available grants of up to $50,000 for a pastor to
plan and execute a three-month Sabbatical. The workshop will explain
the clergy renewal program and its benefits, describe its impact on
pastors, encourage journalists to spread the word, and share examples
of potential stories.

Reverend Jean M. Smith has been a program director at Lilly Endowment
since 1997. Some of her responsibilities include serving as program
director for the grant to Religion Communicators Council in support of
this Congress, for the Religion Newswriters Foundation's Lilly Fellows
program, and for the Endowment's Indiana and National Clergy Renewal
Programs.

The Religion Communication Congress (RCCongress 2010) is an
international, interfaith gathering of religion communicators held
every ten years offering cutting edge skills-building workshops,
challenging plenary speakers, and networking opportunities with
communications professionals. Registration for the April 7-10, 2010 in
Chicago is open to any religion communicator who seeks to be more
effective in telling the stories of his or her faith group and to
share faith expressions with one another. For more information, visit
