“Marriage is between a man and a woman for a lifetime!”, “Say no to the wrong kind of love!

Taiwan needs purity!” read banners held by Christians who participated in the first inter-

denominational march supporting traditional definition of marriage. The march was held on

October 24 at Liberty Square in Taipei and participants also circled nearby streets.

Participants held high other signs with slogans proclaiming God’s love while supporting

traditional definition of marriage. They urged gay activists and gay supporters to be

considerate during gay pride parades and stop confusing society about the real meaning and

>definition of marriage.

“Why did we decide to march? Because we were worried! There’s a huge gay pride parade

on October 31 and we predict more than 20,000 people will attend,” said one participant.

According to the event’s convener, Rev. Chen Yu-chiuan from East Gate Presbyterian Church

in Taipei, Taiwan not only needs God’s love but also needs to turn away from the wrong kind

of love. Repentance is the only way for Taiwan to receive God’s forgiveness and salvation.

Another pastor from Taipei said homosexuality isn’t a genetic problem but a lifestyle choice.

Therefore, homosexual people’s actions and lifestyles can be changed and corrected if they

are willing. As long as Christians reach out to them in love, they can be helped and restored

>and can even start anew in life.
