PCT youth fellowship marks 60th anniversary with photography competition

PCT youth fellowship (also known as TKC) was founded in 1949. To celebrate its 60th

anniversary this year, PCT Youth Ministry Committee organized a series of events on

the themes of thanksgiving and remembrance. One of the events was a photography

contest on the topic of Taiwan’s beauty, co-sponsored by the Committee and Taiwan

Church Press. Participants in this contest ranged from age 13 to 40.

When photographing Taiwan, most contestants not only shot breathtaking scenery

pictures but also amazing photos of animals and plants. Some Christians also

provided photos taken by youth during missions and thus shared with others their

personal stories of how they incorporated Christianity into their daily life in Taiwan.

One of the judges for this competition expressed satisfaction at seeing so many

people trying to capture their lives on film and recording every precious moment. She

also noted that photography doesn’t necessarily require expensive equipment or

professional skills. She pointed to one picture she saw during the competition which

showed a child running in an alley and said the picture, though ordinary, was inspiring

because the person who took the picture was able to capture the moment and the

>child’s feelings on film.

Winners of this competition will have their work displayed during an exhibition at Chang

Jung Christian University, Taiwan Church Press, and PCT headquarters beginning

November 28 to mark the 60th anniversary of TKC.
