Christmas gala at Legislative Yuan focuses on reconciliation
>Reported by Lin Yi-ying

Legislative Yuan Fellowship, Full Gospel Fellowship, and Good TV organized a Christmas
gala at Taiwan’s legislature on the night of December 15. The event was also attended by
pastors from several Christian denominations and Christian artists. Many had come together
on that day to pray for reconciliation among Taiwanese people and among Taiwanese
>churches.
The gala began with Legislative Yuan President Wang Jing Pyng reading the Beatitudes and
encouraging Taiwanese people to aim for all the traits that Jesus mentioned during his
>Sermon on the Mount.
The highlight of the evening was when Chinan Presbyterian Church’s Rev. Wang Yi-fang and
Taipei Mandarin Church’s Rev. Tu Te-ming came forward and prayed together for Taiwan and
>Taiwanese churches.
The gala’s Emcee, Rev. Kou Shao-en, commented that though these two pastors represented
two vastly different denominations and used different languages when preaching, they had
been using the same church building for over ten years. Their unity despite their different
backgrounds was possible because they served the same God – Jesus Christ.
The two pastors prayed for Taiwanese people to love each other despite their different
ethnicities and for unity among churches and pastors. They also prayed for peace and unity to
overflow the Legislative Yuan so that righteous legislations could be passed and benefit
>Taiwanese people.
