Magness becomes federal ministries bishop suffragan

[Episcopal News Service] In a Washington National Cathedral service that
included military and prison chaplains, and Anglican Communion bishops
responsible for care of military personnel, the Rev. Dr. James "Jay"
Magness was ordained and consecrated June 19 as the Episcopal Church's
sixth bishop suffragan for federal ministries.

Pennsylvania's 140th annual gathering June 11-12 renewed the
Harrisburg-based diocese's companion diocese relationship with the
Diocese of Sao Paulo in the Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil.

ENGLAND: Canterbury, York to propose amendments to women bishops
legislation

[Episcopal News Service] The archbishops of Canterbury and York have
"signaled their intention" to propose amendments to draft legislation on
women becoming bishops in the Church of England. The amendments would
preserve a female bishop's episcopal authority while providing an
alternative for those who are "unable to accept the new situation,"
according to a June 21 press release from Lambeth Palace.
