Planting for the future NEW YORK (UMNS) — While the world produces enough food to feed the 7 billion people who live here, 925 million suffer from chronic hunger. That staggering figure includes 200 million undernourished children. In his Nov. 19 address, Thomas Kemper, top executive, United Methodist Board of Global Ministries, encouraged the graduates to "plant for abundant harvests in health, justice, and peace." The mission agency supported two of this year's graduates--the Rev. Munetsi Hokonya from Zimbabwe and Jean Gontran Delgrace, a project manager and agronomist from Haiti.
