ELCA's Grand View College Names New President

GRAND VIEW COLLEGE NAMES NEW PRESIDENT

The Rev. Thomas W. Thomsen, 42, has been named the new president
of Grand View College, Des Moines, Iowa.  Thomsen, who will begin
work July 1, has been vice president for institutional
advancement at Rocky Mountain College, Billings, Mont., since
1992.  "There is a strong sense of mission and vision here.  It
is evident to me that Grand View has squarely faced its unique
mission, is proud if its heritage and has a clear sense of
direction for the future," he said.  Thomsen has a bachelor of
arts degree from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, a master of
divinity degree from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., and has
studies at the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England.
His wife, Barbara, and he have three sons.  Grand View is one of
the 28 colleges and universities associated with the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America.
