STERLING, Kan.--The board of trustees of Sterling College has accepted the
resignation of its president, Dr. Roger Parrott, who announced his
resignation Oct. 24. Parrott, whose resignation becomes effective Dec. 31
and who became the eighth president of Sterling College in 1989, has been
called to the position of president of Belhaven College, a
Presbyterian-affiliated school in Jackson, Miss. Parrott has been on
sabbatical from his position at Sterling College since June. In light of
his resignation, the board has instructed the current college adminstrators

sabbatical.

ATLANTA, Ga.--Emory University's Preservation Office and Pitts Theology
Library of Candler School of Theology are participating with 11 other
Southeastern universities on a microfilming project funded by the National
Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The $500,000 awarded to Emory for its
share of the project will enable Pitts Theology Library to reformat
approximately 4,300 volumes in its 19th-century English religious history
collection. The grant will ensure that these materials will be preserved
and accessible to scholars on microfilm, which can last up to 500 years.
The project began in July and will be completed in June 1997.
