CLARKSVILLE, Ark.--The University of the Ozarks has met a $1.6 million
challenge issued by the Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla. The challenge
stated that the University would receive $1.6 million if it raised at least
$10.1 million in pledges for capital before Sept. 28, 1995. The challenge
was met in August and on Sept. 18, the university received the $1.6 million
check. Funds from the Mabee Foundation will furnish the initial funding of
five capital projects: renovation and expansion of Smith Science Center and
Seay Student Center; construction of the new Robson Library and Boreham
Business Building; and renovation of the Dobson Library into an
adminstration center.
