96154        1996-97 "HORIZONS" Bible Study Released

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The 1996-97 "HORIZONS" magazine Bible study, "Encounters 
with Jesus: The Gospel According to Matthew," has been released. 
 
     The book has been mailed to the magazine's subscribers and is 
available for purchase at $3 per copy. 
 
     According to an announcement issued by "HORIZONS," the magazine of 
Presbyterian Women, the new study "features nine transforming encounters 
with Jesus during his earthly ministry, as told by Matthew." 
 
     The author is the Rev. Sara Covington Juengst, who has served the 
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as a writer, retreat leader, Christian 
educator, missionary to Zaire, campus minister, General Assembly staff 
person and director of continuing education at Columbia Theological 
Seminary in Decatur, Ga. 
 
     Also available is "Women Who Encounter Jesus," a set of six posters 
designed like stained-glass windows and portraying Jesus with women in 
Matthew's gospel. 
 
     Worship bulletins highlighting the Bible study and audiocassettes will 
be available in mid-May. Later this summer, the Bible study will be 
published in Spanish and Korean ($2 per copy) as well as a Braille version 
that will be free of charge.
