95403 Television Agreement Reached
by Jerry L. Van Marter
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The American Christian Television System (ACTS) has
reached agreement with the Faith & Values Channel (F&V) on a three-year
deal that will keep ACTS programming on F&V.
A joint statement issued by officials of both companies declared that
"both parties believe the arrangement helps the channel fulfill its purpose
of providing interfaith and evangelical programming with a broad viewer
appeal to the American public."
ACTS programs have been aired on F&V since 1992, when ACTS, owned and
operated by the Radio and Television Commission of the Southern Baptist
Convention, signed a three-year joint programming arrangement with VISN, a
consortium of 64 Protestant, Jewish, Catholic and Eastern Orthodox faith
groups, including the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
F&V prohibits on-air fund solicitation, proselytizing and maligning of
other faiths. It is currently available via cable in 24.1 million
households. Additionally, the channel became available via satellite Oct.
1 on channel 83 of PRIMESTAR satellite television service.
