95042       FIFTY-FOUR PRESBYTERIANS IN NEW CONGRESS

WASHINGTON--The 104th United States Congress includes 54 
Presbyterians -- 44 in the House of Representatives and 10 in the 
Senate -- according to data released this week by the 
denomination's Washington Office. 
 
     Of the 44 Presbyterian House members, 29 are Republicans and 
15 are Democrats.  The Presbyterian Senate delegation is evenly 
divided. 
 
     The Presbyterian members of the House of Representatives are
