95039         NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR WOMEN'S AWARD

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Nominations are being sought by the Women's 
Ministries Program Area for the annual Women of Faith Awards.  The 
awards will be presented at a supper in honor of the recipients 
July 15 in Cincinnati during the 207th General Assembly (1995). 
 
     Addressing the theme "Woman/Witness: Confronting Injustice," 
the award this year will be given to women "who are on the cutting 
edge, challenging oppression and working for justice." 
 
     A nominee must be a living Presbyterian woman, lay or clergy, 
who "in her life exemplifies faith in God and commitment to the 
mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and who is a leader in 
the denomination and/or in an ecumenical or international arena."  
General Assembly staff members are ineligible. 
 
     Nomination forms are available by calling (502) 569-5362 or 
by writing to the Women's Ministries office in Louisville.  
Deadline for nominations is March 15. 
 
     The Women of Faith Awards originated in 1986.
