RICHMOND, Va.--Union Theological Seminary in Virginia will host a two-week
conference on "Bible and Theology, Interpreting the Faith," June 26-July 7.
The program, held annually, will include lectures by six nationally
recognized scholars and worship services led by four accomplished
preachers. Structured seminars allow participants to engage in informal
discussions with lecturers and preachers. For information on the
conference, write to the Office of Professional Development and Doctor of
Ministry Studies at the seminary.
PITTSBURGH--The Center for Business, Religion and Professions at Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary has been holding forums for the business community
this spring. The last one will be May 16, from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. The
forum will explore "The Changing Face of Philanthropy Today." Speakers will
be Robert W. Lynn, retired vice-president of the Lilly Foundation, and
Franklin Tugwell, executive director of the Heinz Endowments. They will
discuss new emphases and directions for philanthropy given the changing
political and social climate of today.
SAN ANSELMO, Calif.--The inauguration of Donald W. McCullough, ninth
president of San Francisco Theologial Seminary (SFTS), was held May 5 at
First Presbyterian Church in San Anselmo. Pamela G. Kidd, chair of the SFTS
board of trustees, presided over the installation.
DECATUR, Ga.--Columbia Theologial Seminary broke ground April 19 on a $6.5
million addition to the John Bulow Campbell Library, enabling the library
to double its space and to develop a centralized on-line computer center.
