95272ADVISORY PANELS NAMED FOR SMALL CHURCHES, RURAL MINISTRY

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The National Ministries Division has appointed two new 
groups to coordinate the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s work in small 
churches and rural settings.  Both groups will work through the Evangelism 
and Church Development program area. 
 
     Members of tghe Rural Ministry Advisory Committee, charged to 
coordinate church development strategy related to rural ministry, are the 
Rev. Peter Funch, Casper, Wyo.; Carl Goeres, Monmouth, Maine; Lucille Gump, 
Spokane, Wash.; Carlos Gutierrez, Phoenix; the Rev. Richard Poppen, DeSmet, 
S.D.; and Carol Stanley, Gilbert, W.V. 
 
     The Small Church Network Team has been created to continue to 
implement the recommendations of a 1989 General Assembly policy statement 
entitled "Partners in Small Church Strategy."  Members are Pedro Davila, 
Synod of Puerto Rico; the Rev. Mary Hockenberry, Synod of the Northeast; 
Janet Jones, Synod of the Trinity; the Rev. Rebecca New, Synod of 
Mid-America; the Rev.  Cheryl Rohret, Synod of Alaska-Northwest; the Rev. 
Robert Sackmann, Synod of Lincoln Trails; and Gene Wilson, Synod of the 
Sun.
