committee and as a member of the executive committee of the
section on mission and membership development.
She also was a member of the churchwide Board of Church and
Society for eight years and was chairman of that board's Infant
Formula Task Force in 1988-92.
With a special interest in children, she was a founding
member and for four years chairwoman of the South Carolina Child
Protection Advisory Committee. She was also a founding member of
the Spartanburg (S.C.) County Children's Shelter.
She has been a delegate to four United Methodist general and
jurisdictional conferences and is currently a trustee of Claflin
College, Orangeburg, S.C.
