96453 NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR SERVICE ON ECUMENICAL BOARDS
by Jerry L. Van Marter
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Advisory Committee on Ecumenical and Interfaith
Relations (ACEIR) of the General Assembly is seeking nominations for
service on a number of ecumenical agencies and councils.
ACEIR presents its slate of nominees each year to the General Assembly
for election.
The committee is currently seeking nominations of persons to serve as
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) representatives to the following:
* World Alliance of Reformed Churches
* World Council of Churches
* Caribbean and North American Area Council of the World Alliance
of Reformed Churches
* Consultation on Church Union
* National Council of Churches
* PC(USA)'s Advisory Committee on Ecumenical and Interfaith
Relations
Persons interested in one of these positions must have on file a
completed Nomination Form for Ecumenical Service. Because ACEIR tends to
receive self-nominations from a disproportionate number of ordained
ministers, the committee especially encourages nomination forms naming
elders, deacons, and nonordained members of the PC(USA).
For a copy or copies of the form, either apply to PresbyNet inbox
THEODORE GILL, giving the name and postal address to which the form should
be sent, or write to the Rev. Eugene G. Turner, Associate Stated Clerk,
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), 100 Witherspoon St., Rm. 4412, Louisville, KY
40202-1396.
Completed forms are accepted at any time. The Advisory Committee
keeps nomination forms on file for three years, at which point an updated
form is required for further consideration.
