DECATUR, Ill.--Millikin University is rated the best value among Midwestern
liberal arts colleges, according to the annual ranking of "America's best
colleges" by "U.S. News & World Report" magazine. Best value rankings were
devised to provide a realistic measure of where students can get the best
education for the money, the magazine said in an article prepared for its
Sept. 23 issue. Rankings were determined by an analysis of statistical
information supplied by the institution and academic reputation as
determined by a survey of college officials. Data analysis evaluated
student selectivity, faculty resources, financial resources, retention rate
and alumni financial contributions to the school.

administrative buildings in one campus location. The remodeling work is
being done by Nabholz Construction Company of Conway, Ark., and was
designed by Blass, Chilcote, Carter, Gaskin, Bogart and Norcross. Both
companies have been involved in the construction of two new campus
buildings and renovations of two other buildings as part of the Bridging
the Centuries Campaign, which has raised more than $17 million.
