General Assembly stated clerk the Rev. Clifton Kirkpatrick has
announced his appointment of the Rev. Janet DeVries as the Director of
Administration and Assembly Services in the Office of the General Assembly.
DeVries is currently stated clerk and general presbyter of the
Presbytery of Northern Kansas. Her previous experience also includes
service at every governing body level of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
and at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.
Though she has begun spending some time in Louisville, DeVries
officially begins her new work shortly after the first of the year.

On Nov. 25 Gene Wells began work as the associate director for human
resources at the Presbyterian Center in Louisville. He succeeds Susan
Harmansky, who resigned earlier this year.
Wells, a native of northern Kentucky, has worked in the human
resources management field for 25 years, most recently for a
Cincinnati-based company.

Anna May Say Pa, a theology professor and biblical scholar from
Myanmar (Burma), has joined the staff of the Worldwide Ministries Division
as a mission partner in residence for 1996-97.
Say Pa received her education at the Myanmar Institute of Theology
(where she now teaches), the South East Asia Graduate School of Theology
and Princeton Theological Seminary. She is a leader in her denomination,
the Myanmar Baptist Convention, and in the Christian Conference of Asia.
