Music video competition for students
is part of Global Gathering III

                by United Methodist News Service

A music video competition is being sponsored by the United
Methodist Board of Global Ministries in conjunction with Global
Gathering III April 10-13 in Kansas City, Mo.
The competition is open to United Methodists in two
categories: junior and senior high students and college and
graduate students.
Participants will be provided with the instrumental or full
version of a song called "Star-Child," with text by Shirley Erena
Murray of New Zealand and music by Carlton Young of the United
States. The videos then will feature or illustrate the song,
according to the Rev. S.T. Kimbrough, the board's associate
general secretary for mission evangelism.
First, second and third place awards of $200, $100 and $75
respectively will be given. The first- and second-place videos in
each category will be featured during the gathering's "Global
Praise" evening and all videos will be shown in the global
village throughout the event. First-place winners will be invited
to attend as the board's guests.
Deadlines for the competition have been extended.
Applications must be received by Jan. 30 and the finished videos
received by March 15.
For applications, write to the Board of Global Ministries,
475 Riverside Dr., Room 360, New York, NY 10115 or fax to (212)
870-3748, attention S.T. Kimbrough.
