to help clergy and lay participants discover how grace is real in
their lives and how they can live a life filled with grace. 
     During the four-day weekend, the anniversary participants
will study, sing, pray, worship, share and discuss what they are
learning. After three days, they will continue the Emmaus
experience with group reunions that provide spiritual support.
     Since its beginning, more than 11,350 walks have taken place
in more than 12 countries, reaching more than 410,000 people. New
Emmaus communities were started during 1996 in Ghana, Hong Kong
and Estonia.
     Speakers for the 20th anniversary gathering include the Rev.
Robert R. Wood, leader of the first Emmaus walk; Cynthia Wilson-
Felder, diaconal minister at Ben Hill United Methodist Church,
Atlanta; Bishop Mary Ann Swenson, Denver Area; the Rev. Maxie
Dunnam, president of Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Ky.;
and Eduardo Bonnin, Mallorca, Spain.
     The registration deadline for the anniversary gathering is
