Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (M&M),
underwent successful hip replacement surgery at the New
York Hospital for Special Surgery on Jan. 23. It is

during
which time he will work from his home office.
o Dr. Samuel B. McKinney, senior pastor of Mt. Zion
Baptist Church, Seattle, for 38 years, recently received
the prestigious A.K. Guy Award from the YMCA. The award
commends McKinney's extensive civic
commitments, including leadership in programs promoting
education and civil rights. He is the founder of
Seattle's Opportunities Industrialization Center.
Currently McKinney is involved in the development of a
64-unit
retirement home. In presenting the award, the YMCA noted
that McKinney's life was "exemplary of the Golden
Rule, 'Do unto others as you would have others do unto
you.'" McKinney was the first president of the
American Baptist Black Caucus.

Ministries missionary to Zaire, died Jan. 19 at age
90. Along with her husband, Elmer, she began service in

Vanga, Leopoldville and Kimpese in evangelization,
preaching and the development of local churches. In 1951

Kodak and chair of the Board of Trustees of Keuka
