     A story in the Jan. 31, 1997, edition of  "NEWS BRIEFS" about the 
Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program (#97030) should have stated that 
PILP's $100 million General Offering began Jan. 1. The phone number for 
PILP's "Get the Point" program is 1-800-903-7457.

     A story in the Jan. 17, 1997, edition of  "NEWS BRIEFS" about church 
educators (#97014) should have identified Lynette Johnson as a Certified 
Christian Educator employed by Potomac Presbyterian Church in Potomac, Md.

     A story in the Jan. 31, 1997, edition of  "NEWS BRIEFS" about a 
proposal to focus on the "Great Ends of the Church" (#97033) was premature 
in reporting that six entities of the denomination have endorsed the 
proposal.  The leaders of the six entities have endorsed it but only two of 
the entities -- the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly and the 
General Assembly Council Executive Committee -- have taken formal action on 
it.
