Presbyterian Men to Hold
Spring Assembly in Seattle
by Julian Shipp
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Presbyterian Men (PM) will hold its 1997 Spring Men's
Assembly April 18-21 at the Airport Raddison Hotel in Seattle, Wash. The
theme will be "The New Man and the New Commandment," taken from John
13:31-35.
The program will include the following workshops:
* "I Love You, Man: God's Love in a Bud Light World"
* "A Journey of Faith: Facing Life's Stressful Encounters with
Hope"
* "What Is the Good News?"
The Rev. John C. Purdy of Santa Fe, N.M., and the Rev. Michael Brewer,
pastor of Crescent Springs Presbyterian Church in Crescent Springs, Ky.,
will conduct training in the highly successful Men's Bible Study series.
Both men are writers for the new series.
"The Men's Bible Study resources have been received very well by
congregations," said the Rev. Curtis A. Miller, associate for men's
ministry in the Congregational Ministries Division. "It's probably been the
best-selling resource that we've developed. More than 9,000 Bible Studies
have been sold so far."
Other program dates for Presbyterian Men:
* October 17-19 -- Presbyterian Men's Fall Assembly, Columbus, Ohio
* April 17-19, 1998 -- Presbyterian Men's Spring Assembly, Phoenix,
Ariz.
* October 16-18, 1998 -- Presbyterian Men's Fall Assembly,
Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.
"Meetings such as these are planned with all Presbyterian men in
mind," Miller said. "We look forward to seeing more men at one or more of
our scheduled meetings."
