               Women of Faith Award Nominees Sought

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Women's Ministries Program Area here is seeking 
nominees for its annual Women of Faith Awards.  The awards will be 
presented at the Women of Faith Awards Breakfast  June 15 in Syracuse 
during the General Assembly. 
 
     A nominee must be a living Presbyterian woman who in her life 
exemplifies faith in God and commitment to the mission of the Presbyterian 
Church (U.S.A.) and who is a leader in the denomination and/or in an 
ecumenical or international arena. 
 
     The 1997 award theme is "WomanWitness: Accompanying the Voiceless." 
According to award officials "it calls for recognition of the supportive 
women who seek out the voiceless and powerless in the church and society 
and ensure their perspectives and voices are heard and considered so that 
structures may be transformed." 
 
     Deadline for nominations is March 15.  Official forms are available by

Street, Louisville, KY 40202. 
 
     The Women of Faith Awards originated in 1986.
