     The Rev. Barbara A. Roche, founding editor of HORIZONS magazine and 
Bible Study, has resigned, effective Sept. 1, 1997.  Roche's resignation 
was "regretfully accepted" by Hazel Fuhrmeister, moderator of Presbyterian 
Women, and Helen Waddle, chair of the HORIZONS board of directors, during 
the Feb. 17 meeting of the Presbyterian Women Churchwide Coordinating Team 
in San Antonio, Texas. 
     Roche served as editor of HORIZONS from its founding nine years ago. 
Previously she was editor of CONCERN, the magazine of United Presbyterian 
Women in the former United Presbyterian Church in the United States of 
America.
