PRINCETON, N.J.--Millard Fuller, the founder and president of Habitat for 
Humanity, will speak at Princeton Seminary at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 
9, at a lunchtime forum in the Main Lounge of the Mackay Campus Center. 
Fuller will also preach at the seminary's daily chapel service.  Fuller and 
his wife, Linda, will narrate the beginnings of Habitat, an organization 
that has grown into an international ministry that builds houses for people 
in need by partnering volunteers with the people who will live in the

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- Nearly 100 theologians, historians and pastors will 
participate in the Eleventh Colloquium on Calvin and Calvin Studies at 
Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, April 24-26.  The Calvin 
Studies Society, formed in 1976, meets every two years to explore the 
writings and the historical context of John Calvin.  This year's lecture 
focus is "Calvin and His Contemporaries: Colleagues, Friends and 
Conflicts."  Amy Plantinga Pauw, the Henry P. Mobley professor of doctrinal 
theology, will host the scholars; seminary President John M. Mulder is a 
member of the society and will be participating in the meeting. 
 
SAN ANSELMO, Calif.-- "Anamnesis and Epiclesis: Remembrance of Things Past 
and Blessing of Things to Come" is the title of an on-campus weekend, May 
2-3, celebrating the life and ministry of Howard Rice, who is retiring 
after 29 years as chaplain and professor of ministry at San Francisco 
Theological Seminary.  A Book of Tributes is being compiled by students, 
colleagues and friends, and photos, cards, stories and poems are to be sent 
to the Office of the Dean, 2 Kensington Rd., San Anselmo, CA 94960-2905,

DECATUR, Ga.--Kathleen O'Connor was inaugurated as professor of Old 
Testament language, literature and exegesis on April 1 in the chapel of 
Columbia Theological Seminary.  Her address subject was "Abraham's Unholy 
Family: Mirror, Witness, Summons."  O'Connor was appointed to the Columbia 
faculty in 1995.  She is the author of  "The Confessions of Jeremiah," "The 
Wisdom Literature," and a recent commentary on the Book of  Jeremiah, and 
is working on a commentary on the Book of Lamentations for the "New 
Interpreter's Bible." 
 
AUSTIN, Texas-- Four Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary students 
received fellowships for postgraduate study during the Austin Seminary 
Association Banquet, Feb. 5.  Kathryn Anderson of Victoria, Texas, received 
the Pile-Morgan Fellowship for 1997; Cindy Taipale Little of Austin, the 
David L. Stitt Fellowship; Kristen Hamilton-Sutherland, the W.P. Newel 
Memorial Scholarship; and Rebecca Fox of Austin, the Janie Maxwell Morris 
Fellowship. 
 
ATLANTA--A campaign to establish an endowment fund bearing the name of 
James H. Costen has been launched by the board of trustees of the Johnson 
C. Smith Theological Seminary, honoring Costen's 28 years of service to the 
seminary.  Costen is retiring as the seminary's president and the board 
intends for the endowment drive to raise a minimum of $650,000.  The new 
fund will be managed by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation.

PITTSBURGH, Pa.--Alister E. McGrath, principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford 
University, will deliver a series of lectures entitled "Theology and 
Ministry" for the J. Hubert Henderson Conference on Church & Ministry at 
Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, April 24-25. Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, is the 
Church of England's largest seminary.  McGrath is the author of many books, 
including the widely used "Christian Theology: An Introduction" and "The 
Christian Theology Reader."
