Three more missionary couples
return to duties in former Zaire

               by United Methodist News Service

     Three more United Methodist missionary couples have returned
to the former Zaire, now known as the Democratic Republic of
Congo.
     Arriving in Lubumbashi May 19 were Fred and Lanie Price,
Stephen and Gail Quigg and David and Lorene Persons, according to
information from the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries.
     The Prices and Persons were to continue on to their
assignments in Likasi and Mulungwishi, respectively. The Quiggs
will return to Kananga in the near future.
     As of May 20, the missionary pilots had not yet been
authorized by the board to return and remained in Zambia.
     The country's new self-proclaimed president, Laurent Kabila,
arrived in the capital city of Kinshasa the evening of May 20. He
was expected soon to announce appointments to his new government.
