UGANDA: BISHOP'S WIFE KILLED BY LANDMINE

(CEN) Mrs Winifred Ochola, the wife of the Bishop of Kitgum, in northern
Uganda was killed by a landmine on 23 May when a truck she was
travelling in hit a mine and killed her and three others. According to
the Church Mission Society in London the incident took place a long way
from ongoing military activity. The Bishop of Kitgum, the Rt Revd
Macleord Baker Ochola II, is a leading campaigner for reconciliation and
has made strong calls for an end to rebel activity in northern Uganda.
