WCC sponsors
essay contest

			by United Methodist News Service

	The World Council of Churches (WCC) is sponsoring a biblical essay contest
for young people, with first prize being an all-expenses-paid trip to Harare,
Zimbabwe, for the WCC's Eighth Assembly.
	Entrants must have been born in 1964 or after. Essays are to be written on
the biblical topic of Jubilee, with judges looking for clarity, originality
and ecumenical vision.
	The topic was chosen to mark the WCC's 50th anniversary, which will be
celebrated during the Harare assembly, Dec. 3-14, 1998.
	Entry deadline is May 1, 1998. For more information, contact Philip Jenks,
