United Methodist-related Philander Smith College has received
national accreditation from the Association of Collegiate Business
Schools and Programs for its new business degree program.
The Division of Business and Economics at the 120 year-old
historically black college in Little Rock, Ark., was among 28
institutions to be accredited by the association during its June
30 annual conference in Newport Beach, Calif.
The mission of the nine year-old association is to strengthen
business education in colleges and universities across the
country. There are currently 457 member institutions in the
association.
Philander Smith College is accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools. It also is listed by the
University Senate of the United Methodist Church as an approved
