    School Calendar Changes Create Additional Volunteer 
    Needs For San Antonio Mission

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--With the San Antonio public schools going to a year-round 
school calendar, the House of Neighborly Service (HNS), an 80-year-old 
mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is looking for additional 
volunteers to staff its day camp program. 
 
    HNS has always used many volunteers from all over the country to help 
run its extensive program of day camps for children and youth in its 
impoverished West Side neighborhood.  Its services include educational and 
recreational programs, emergency food and clothing assistance.  Between 60 
and 100 children participate in the day camp program. 
 
    With the calendar changes, volunteer mission teams are needed Oct. 6-10 
and Oct. 13-17 this year.  Additional teams will be needed March 16-20 and 
23-27, 1998.
