NIGERIA: CHURCH BECOMES THREE PROVINCES

(ACNS) The Church of the Province of Nigeria is a growing Church. It now
has 58 dioceses and recently decided to create three Provinces within
the Church. The new Provinces each has its own Archbishop. The new
Provinces will be inaugurated on 3 October and the Archbishops will be
presented. The archbishop and archbishops-elect are:

Province One
Archbishop: The Most Revd J A Adetiloye
To include the dioceses of Lagos, Ibadan, Ondo, Benin, Ekiti, Kwara,
Ilesa, Egba, Ijebu, Warri, Akoko, Owo, Akure, Remo, Osun, Ife, Oke-Osun, 
Sabongida-Ora, Ikale/Ilaje, Kabba, Yewa (Egbado), Lokoja.

Province Two
Archbishop: The Rt Revd B C Nwankiti 
To include the dioceses of On the Niger, Owerri, Enugu, Aba, Asaba,
Orlu, Awka, Calabar, Uyo, Mbaise, Okigwe-North, Okigwe-South, Umuahia,
Ukwa, Nsukka, Egbu, Nnewi, Niger Delta North, Niger Delta.

Province Three
Archbishop: The Rt Revd P J Akinola
To include the dioceses of Kaduna, Kano, Jos, Abuja, Minna, Kafanchan, 
Katsina, Sokoto, Makurdi, Yola, Maidurguri, Bauchi, Jalingo, Kebbi,
Dutse, Damaturu, Oturkpo.
