Resource to prepare children for participation
in worship released by Discipleship board

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) -- A worship readiness resource to
acclimate children to the rhythm and ritual of worship services
has been released by Discipleship Resources, the publishing arm of
the United Methodist Board of Discipleship.
Written by MaryJane Pierce Norton, a staff member at the
board, Children Worship! is a 13-session guide for workers with
children ages five through eight. "It is designed to help children
and adults understand why we do what we do in worship," Norton
said.
She designed the book to be used with children, or to be an
intergenerational study with their families and other adults.
Children Worship! also includes activity sheets, bulletin
inserts, suggested letters to parents, worship suggestions to use
while children are involved in the study, and suggestions for a
churchwide study on children and worship.
The book is available from Discipleship Resources, by
e-mail at http://www.discipleshipresources.org or by writing P.O.
Box 6996, Alpharetta, GA 30009-6996; telephone (800) 685-4370.
Refer to #DR223 when ordering.
