Denver to host next General Convention
(ENS) It was unanimous: Denver, Colo., will be the site of the
73rd General Convention in 2000.
The convention also recommended four sites for the convention in
2003: Charlotte, North Carolina; Kansas City, Missouri; Minneapolis,
Minnesota; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Another resolution recommended that future General Conventions
should occur between June 15 and August 15 "if at all possible."
And in a long-standing attempt to move the church's center of
gravity from New York City, the convention directed the Executive
Council to consider a new location for the Episcopal Church Center and
report its findings to the 73rd General Convention.
