New network being created
for church office professionals
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) -- A new network is being established
by Cokesbury, the retail arm of the United Methodist Publishing
House, for church secretaries, office managers and other church
office professionals.
Beginning this fall the new Cokesbury Church Office Network
will provide members with networking opportunities, job-related
tips, new product information and a professional discount.
According to Marc Lewis, Cokesbury's vice president of direct
sales, the network was created to provide church office
professionals an "exceptional level of service geared specifically
toward their needs."
All church office professionals may join the network. They
will receive:
-- a 20 percent discount on most books and Bibles purchased
through Cokesbury for personal use;
-- up-to-date product and event information;
-- notices of special sales on personal and professional
products.
Another feature of the network was planned to benefit both
members and Cokesbury. Once a year, each network member will
receive a profile sheet listing the staff members and programs at
his or her church. After noting any changes, the member will
return the sheet so that Cokesbury staff can make any needed
corrections to the database.
"By making appropriate staff and programming changes in our
database, we hope to eliminate duplicate and unwanted mailings,"
said Lewis. "By doing so, we save everyone time and help preserve
our world's finite resources."
The Cokesbury Church Office Network will begin in November.
Church office professionals may sign up for the free membership by
calling Cokesbury toll free: (800) 672-1789, ext. 6559.
