FROM THE ANGLICAN COMMUNION OFFICE, LONDON
(ACNS) Statement from the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion
On the Death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta
I know I speak on behalf of the entire Anglican Family around the globe
in extending sympathy and prayers to the Roman Catholic Community at the
news of the death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Her ardent faith and
her deep compassion are something that will be remembered for
generations to come. Her greatest gift to us is not only the admonition
to work for the poor, but to love the poor, the outcast.
So much of what Mother Teresa was able to accomplish is an inspiration
and motivation for all Christian people. May she rest in peace and rise
in glory.
The Revd Canon John L. Peterson
