    Upper Midwest Evangelism Celebration Canceled

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Upper Midwest regional Presbyterian Celebration of 
Evangelism, scheduled for Oct. 8-11 in Minneapolis, has been canceled due 
to poor advance registration. 
 
    According to Linda Post Bushkofsky, fewer than 30 persons had signed up 
for the event by mid-September.  Two hundred persons were needed to make 
the event financially feasible. 
 
    The celebration was to have been the latest in a series of highly 
popular evangelism fetes co-sponsored by the Evangelism and Church 
Development Program Area in Louisville, the governing bodies and 
congregations in the region, and Presbyterians for Renewal.
