You can help disaster victims

For more than 50 years, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has
helped disaster victims and war refugees around the world. Every United
Methodist can be a part of UMCOR.
One Great Hour of Sharing, observed on the fourth Sunday of Lent, provides
congregations with the opportunity to donate to support UMCOR by helping to
provide operating expenses.
Your donation check for a specific disaster, which usually is assigned an
Advance number, may be sent to UMCOR through your local church, annual
conference or by mailing the check directly to UMCOR, 475 Riverside Drive,
#330, New York, NY 10115. Of such donations, 100 percent goes to helping
people in the specifically designated disaster.
Some individuals or church groups elect to donate goods to be shipped to
disaster areas, where UMCOR operates disaster warehouses. Used clothing
usually is not wanted or needed. You may call to obtain a list of needed
items: (800) 814-8765.
You may volunteer time to help disaster victims cleanup and rebuild.
Whatever your skills and experiences, there is a disaster recovery task for
you. To volunteer, call: (800) 918-3100.
	Additional information on UMCOR may be obtained by calling: (800) 841-1235;
or, checkout UMCORs Website at: http://gbgm-umc.org/units/umcor/index,html
