    Mission Service Workers Sought

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Mission Service Recruitment office in the Worldwide 
Ministries Division here is seeking applicants for 24 full-time, 
compensated missionary positions all around the world. 
 
    According to Susan Heffner Rhema, coordinator for mission service 
recruitment, the assignments are for three-year terms, beginning in June 
1998.  Application deadline is Jan. 15, 1998. 
 
    Positions for which persons are being sought: 
 
Coordinator for visiting teams, Haiti: Work with the Episcopal Diocese of 
Haiti to oversee scheduling, orientation and visits to St. Croix Hospital 
(theological or medical training preferred). 
 
U.S. coordinator/co-director of Frontera de Crista, Mexico: Work with 
Presbyterian Border Ministry, in conjunction with National Presbyterian 
Church of Mexico, to coordinate mission interpretation and support of U.S. 
volunteers (seminary training preferred). 
 
Pastor and church leader trainer, Guatemala: Work with National 
Presbyterian Church of Guatemala to provide leadership training and 
pastoral support (seminary training with emphasis in psychology and 
Christian education required). 
 
English teacher, China: Work with Shenyang Teachers' College to teach 
conversational English and grammar. 
 
Evangelist, peacemaker, financial representative, Korea: Work with 
Presbyterian Church in Korea in the areas of ecumenical relations, peace 
and unification (master's degree or M.Div. required). 
 
Women's ministry facilitator, Korea: Work with Presbyterian Church in Korea 
and National Korean Presbyterian Women to assist with ecumenical relations, 
women's program development and translation of articles (ordained PC(USA) 
minister preferred). 
 
Partnership facilitator, Democratic Republic of the Congo: Work with 
Congolese partner churches to support coordination of program, budget, 
mission personnel and Africa area office of the PC(USA) (theological or 
social work training and PC(USA) ordination preferred). 
 
Physician-internest, pediatrician or OB/GYN, Democratic Republic of the 
Congo: Work with the Institut Medical Chretien du Kasai to provide quality 
care to patients, train Congolese staff and provide Christian witness. 
 
Evangelism facilitator, Ethiopia: Work with Illubabour Bethel Synod to 
facilitate training of evangelists and Christian education activities (must 
be ordained PC(USA) minister). 
 
Teacher of agriculture, Ethiopia: Work with Bethel Evangelical Secondary 
School to teach agricultural sciences. 
 
Partnership facilitator for West Africa, Ghana: Work with Presbyterian 
Church of Ghana to support coordination of policy, budget and relationship 
with the Africa area office and assist with program development 
(theological or social work training and PC(USA) ordination preferred). 
 
Assistant pastor, South Africa: Work with J.L. Zwane Memorial Church to 
provide ministry in preaching, evangelism, community development and 
women's programs (ordained PC(USA) minister preferred). 
 
Assistant legislative advocate, South Africa: Work with the South Africa 
Council of Churches to assist the director of legislative affairs in 
research and writing of briefs related to new legislation and 
interpretation of legislative impact to churches (master's degree 
preferred). 
 
Evangelism facilitator, Mozambique: Work with Presbyterian Church of 
Mozambique to provide training and support to evangelism efforts with 
various unreached groups. 
 
Micro-Business development officer, Albania: Work with Women's 
Micro-Business Development Foundation to assist board of directors in loan 
assessment and loan management. 
 
Librarian, Croatia: Work with Croatia Evangelical Theological Seminary to 
support theological education (librarian degree required, master's degree 
or theological training preferred). 
 
Professor of Christian education, Lebanon: Work with Near East School of 
Theology to teach Christian education, provide guidance to students and 
supervise student teachers (master's degree in Christian education 
required). 
 
Principal for Woodstock School, India: Work with Woodstock School (a 
Christian international school) as chief administrator to implement a 
long-range plan. 
 
Evangelism trainer, Pakistan: Work with Presbyterian Church of Pakistan to 
support church planting in Karachi and pastors in that region (must be 
ordained PC(USA) minister). 
 
Professor of Christian education/spiritual formation, Pakistan: Work with 
Gujranwala Theological Seminary, teaching courses, developing curriculum 
and researching projects that support the spiritual training of seminarians 
(master's degree in Christian education required). 
 
Professor of church history, Pakistan: Work with Gujranwala Theological 
Seminary, teaching courses, developing curriculum and researching projects 
that support the education of seminarians (master's degree in church 
history required). 
 
Director of church development, Chile: Work with the Iglesia Christiana 
Presbiteriana en Chile to support the development of new churches in 
southern Chile through a program of theological education for pastors and 
church leaders (must be ordained PC(USA) minister). 
 
Development worker, Colombia: Work with the Presbyterian Church of Colombia 
to assist in creating programs that support hunger ministries and economic 
development in the northern region of the country (master's degree 
preferred). 
 
Health consultant, South America: Work with Health Ministries Office of the 
Worldwide Ministries Division to support the development and execution of 
public health programs with partner agencies in South America (master's 
degree in public health preferred).
