AUSTRALIA: MELBOURNE'S YOUTH GO TO SOUTH AFRICA

(Church Scene) A team of voluntary youth leaders from the Diocese of
Melbourne is visiting South Africa in a cross-cultural leadership
development programme as part of the mutual 150th anniversary
celebrations of the Diocese of Melbourne and Cape Town.

The group organised by Anglican Youth Ministries went to South Africa on
September 15. Their programme includes work in leadership development,
mission exposure and witnessing the work of reconciliation in progress.

The team are billeted with members of the diocesan youth council in Cape
Town and will take part in worship with them. They will be visiting
local youth ministries, schools and churches where there will be
opportunities to discuss faith, culture and life issues in a
multi-racial context. It is hoped that there will be an exchange visit
made by a South African youth delegation next year.
