PITTSBURGH--A three-session continuing education course on the relationship 
between theology and science will be taught by Ron Cole-Turner, Pittsburgh 
Theological Seminary's H. Parker Sharp associate professor for theology and 
ethics, at the seminary, Jan. 13, 20 and 27.  It will run from 7:30 to 9:30 
p.m. and the $30 registration fee includes the text.  For more information,

DUBUQUE, Iowa--Paul Kessler, formerly vice president of Mt. Aloysius 
College in Cresson, Pa., has been named vice president of academic affairs 
at the University of Dubuque.  At Mt. Aloysius, he served as project 
manager for several major campus buildings and introduced more than 25 new 
academic programs to the college. 
 
PRINCETON, N.J. --The legacy of the Rev. Eugene Carson Blake -- a 1932 
graduate of Princeton Seminary -- will be commemorated at a leadership 
conference for pastors at the seminary, Feb. 8-10.  Blake served as 
president of the NCC, general secretary of the WCC and stated clerk of the 
Presbyterian Church.  Speakers include Douglas Brackenridge, Blake's 
biographer; John Buchanan, former moderator of the Presbyterian Church 
(U.S.A.); Joan Brown Campbell, general secretary of the National Council of 
Churches (NCC); Deborah Mullen, vice chair of the NCC's Faith and Order 
Commission; and Robert Bohl, former moderator of the PC(USA).  To register,

at 1-888-212-2920.  The conference is co-sponsored by the seminary, the NCC 
and the WCC. 
 
AUSTIN, Texas--The Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary board of 
trustees granted tenure to William Stacy Johnson, associate professor of 
systematic theology, and named him to the W.C. Brown Chair of Theology on 
Nov. 15.  Johnson has been a member of the seminary's faculty for five 
years.  He is the first holder of the W.C. Brown chair, which was 
established by the board of trustees in 1994.  Brown was a trustee of the 
seminary for 35 years; he died in 1989. 
 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --Editorial work for "The Journal of Family Ministry" will 
be sponsored by the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary as part of 
the work of the Center for Congregations and Family Ministries, a new 
program.  "We need to equip families to live faithfully," said Diana 
Garland, the journal's current editor, who is associated with the Center's 
program.  The journal includes research as well as articles geared for use 
by churches, counseling agencies and family ministries.  For more

CHICAGO-- Retired professors Edward F. Campbell Jr. and Don M. Wardlaw were 
granted the honorary titles of professor emeritus by the board of trustees 
of McCormick Theological Seminary.  Campbell was named professor emeritus 
of Old Testament, and Wardlaw was named professor emeritus of preaching and 
worship.
