    General Assembly Council interim executive director the Rev. Frank Diaz 
has announced the appointment of William M. Reed as associate director for 
implementation in the Office of the Executive Director.  He will serve a 
nine-month term beginning Dec. 8. 
    Reed is an attorney from Lexington, Ky., and is stated clerk of 
Transylvania Presbytery.  His assignment is to design the new structure for 
the Office of the Executive Director in line with General Assembly- and 
General Assembly Council-mandated changes in the office.

    Funeral services were held last week at First Presbyterian Church in 
Houston for Joel Enlow and Tracy Ritchie.  The two Presbyterians were among 
the four American oil company workers killed by Islamic fundamentalist 
terrorists earlier this month in Karachi, Pakistan.
