Consultation to focus
on mission work in Russia

	A consultation on mission work in Russia and the Ukraine is set for Feb.
19-21 in St. Louis.
	Sponsored by the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries, the event is
designed to honor Russian-American partnerships; recognize U.S. churches
participating in the board's Russia Initiative; offer workshops and
storytelling; and provide orientation for new participants.
	United Methodist Bishop Ruediger Minor of Russia will speak on "Challenges
Facing the Church's Witness in Eurasia." Another featured speaker is Lawrence
Uzzell, a journalist with the Keston Institute in Moscow, who will discuss the
new Russian law on religious freedom.
	Russian United Methodist representatives will include the Rev. Andrei Pupko,
superintendent of the St. Petersburg District, who will speak about evangelism
and church growth in Russia; and the Rev. Oksana Petrova, pastor of Holy
Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, who will share how United
Methodists in Russia are addressing the needs of their communities.
