    Christians' Role in Higher Education in the New 
    Millennium Is Topic of Upcoming Ghost Ranch Conference

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--"Faith, Learning and Living: Now and into the Third 
Millennium" will be the theme for the 1998 Ghost Ranch Conference on 
Current Issues in Higher Education Mission. 
 
    The conference will be held at the New Mexico ranch July 6-12. 
 
    According to conference coordinator the Rev. Harry Smith, the 
conference "provides a unique opportunity for those who live out their 
vocations in higher education to explore together the relations among 
faith, learning and living and what these mean for Christians involved in 
the church's mission in public and independent colleges and universities." 
 
    Conference activities will include discussion of papers written for the 
conference and distributed in advance to participants, films, case studies 
and shared stories. 
 
    Among the daily topics: 
 
      "Where Are We and How Did We Get Here?" 
      "Historical and Contextual Perspectives" 
      "Re-Forming Faith" 
      "Different Styles of Teaching and Learning" 
      "Faith-Informed Learning" 
      "Faith-Informed Living" 
 
    The registration fee for the conference is $65 and room and board is 
$310.  Deadline for registration is May 1, 1998.
