BUENOS AIRES, Argentina/GENEVA, March 10, 1998 (alc/lwi) - Lutheran World
Federation (LWF) president, Bishop Christian Krause, will meet with leaders
of LWF Latin American member churches, during their annual consultation in
Buenos Aires, April 21-25.

Krause will be on the final phase of a Latin American and Caribbean tour
scheduled for April 3-23. The tour of LWF member churches, Krause's first
since his election as LWF president last July, will include visits to
Lutheran communities in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Suriname, Brazil and
Argentina.

Bishops and presidents from the Lutheran churches of Honduras, Colombia,
Chile, Brazil, Nicaragua, Bolivia and Venezuela are expected to attend,
together with those of the host churches, the United Evangelical Lutheran
Church and the Evangelical Church of the River Plate.
