A story in the July 17 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the Church Growth
Strategy Team (#98217, p. 5) contained a misspelled name. The associate
pastor of Canoga Park Presbyterian Church in San Fernando Presbytery is the
Rev. Daniel Beteta, not Beleta.

A story in the July 3 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the 1998 Walton
Award winners (#GA98004, p. 16), reported an incorrect name for one of the
recipients. The Island Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, was
wrongly listed as the Island Memorial Presbyterian Church.

A story in the July 3 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the 1998 General
Assembly's actions on abortion (#GA98129, p. 15) incorrectly reported that
a special committee was authorized to review and implement the Assembly's
current policy on abortion. That review was assigned to the Advisory
Committee on Social Witness Policy, not to any special committee of the
General Assembly.

A correction in the July 24 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" was
incorrect (How's that for adding insult to injury?). The 210th General
Assembly did not change Hiroshima Day (Aug. 6, 2000) to "Day of
Remembrance" in the Presbyterian Planning Calendar. That change was
proposed to the Assembly, but was rejected and the day was eliminated from
the calendar altogether.
