    International Mission Service Opportunities Announced

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-The Mission Service Recruitment office in Louisville has 
announced openings for 20 volunteer and 26 compensated mission service 
positions around the world. 
 
    Deadline for application for the positions is Jan. 15, 1999, with a 
starting date of June 1999. 
 
    The volunteer opportunities, which are for a two-year term are for 
English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers in Ethiopia, Korea, Romania and 
Slovakia; English teachers in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vanuatu (combined with 
a librarian position), Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Egypt and Thailand; a 
young adult ecumenical intern in the Philippines; an ecumenical program 
assistant in the Philippines; a professor of English and a professor of 
theology in Brazil; teachers in Kyrgyzstan, Egypt and Nepal; a mathematics 
teacher in India; a family practice physician in Kyrgyzstan; a lecturer in 
Croatia; an educator/administrative assistant in Pakistan; and a director 
for Shalom House in Korea. 
 
    The three-year compensated positions are for: 
 
      Medical director of Djoungolo Hospital in Cameroon (must be an M.D. 
with management experience or training 
      Theological educator at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary of the 
Presbyterian Church in Cameroon 
      Community development worker for the Presbyterian Church of Colombia 
(Master's degree preferred) 
      Physician for the Institute Medical Chretien du Kasai in Congo 
      Evangelist/new church developer for the Reformed Christian Church in 
Croatia (M.Div. required, experience in evangelism, pastoral ministry, and 
cross-cultural ministry preferred) 
      Theological librarian for the Croatia Evangelical Theological 
Seminary (librarian degree required, Master's degree or theological 
training preferred) 
      Evangelism facilitator for the Illubabour Bethel Synod in Ethiopia 
(must be ordained Presbyterian minister) 
      Old Testament exegesis professor for Ethiopian Evangelical Church 
Mekane Jesus Seminary (must be a Presbyterian minister or elder with a 
Master's degree in theology or M.Div., Ph.D. preferred) 
      West Africa mission enabler (evangelism and Christian education) 
based in Ghana (college degree in theology or social sciences, including 
development and education, required) 
      Health/development advisor to the National Evangelical Presbyterian 
Church in Guatemala 
      Health specialist/administrator for the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti 
      Partnership consultant with PC(USA) partners in India (graduate 
degree required) 
      Student ministry and lay training for the Kyodan, Council on 
Cooperative Mission in Japan (M.Div. required) 
      Ecumenical reconciliation/youth minister for the Korean Christian 
Church in Japan 
      Evangelist/peacemaker for the Presbyterian Church in Korea (Master's 
degree or M.Div. required) 
      Women's ministry worker with the Presbyterian Church of Korea Women 
(M.Div. and ordination as a Presbyterian minister or elder required) 
      Coordinator for educational and work groups for the National 
Presbyterian Church of Mexico 
      Evangelism facilitator for the Presbyterian Church of Mozambique 
      Delegation coordinator for Consejo de Iglesias Evangelicas 
Pro-Alianza Denominacional (CEPAD) in Nicaragua (conversational Spanish 
skills and Central America experience required) 
      Evangelism facilitator for the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria 
      Professor of church history or professor of ethics at Silliman 
College of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (Master's degree 
required) 
      Evangelism and church growth consultant with various partner churches 
in Southern Africa (M.Div. and ordination as a minister preferred) 
      Mission enabler (evangelism, education and leadership development) 
for the Presbyterian Church of Sudan and the Ethiopian Evangelical Church 
Mekane Jesus in Ethiopia(Master's degree in theology and experience in 
cross-cultural evangelism required) 
      English teacher at Yushan Theological College of the Presbyterian 
Church in Taiwan (Bachelor's degree in English and M.Div. required) 
      Volunteer coordinator for the Department of Education of the 
Christian Church in Thailand (experience/education in ESL/TEFL required) 
      Hospital administrator for the Mwandi Hospital of the United Church 
of Zambia (M.B.A. or equivalent degree required)
