A story in the Dec. 11 issue reported that the Congregational
Ministries Division Committee approved financial aid for the Stony Point
Conference Center to cover operating deficits. The money is actually
intended to help with some capital improvements that are outside the
center's operating budget.
The same story reported erroneously that a loan from the General
Assembly Council to the Curriculum Publishing Program Area (CPPA) was under
consideration.
An article summary in the same issue stating that the CPPA was facing a
budget shortfall may have led readers to assume it was losing money. In
reality, CPPA's net earnings are positive, but anticipated income for 1998
is less than was originally expected.
